What a way to kick off both the month of June and my time at Promontory!  I just got back from a tour of the Promontory Club property on a perfect Park City afternoon.  The real estate and the views were impressive, but the animals are what won me over.  Moments after pulling out of the Shed parking lot we had to slow the car in order to avoid a rabbit who couldn’t decide if he wanted to spend his day in the Painted Sky or West Hills neighborhood.  We meandered down to gate and at the bottom, I found the peak of my tour in the Equestrian Facility.  I had the privilege of growing up with a pony in my backyard and some of my fondest childhood memories are from the barn my father built with his bare hands.  My mother and I bonded on trail rides and I had no idea that it wasn’t normal to be picked up from kindergarten by a horse drawn buggy.  Needless to say, being reunited with horses brought back a flood of sentiment.  I forgot how nice it feel to pat their muscular necks and breathe in the unique scent of their velvety noses.  The facility for the Promontory horses blew me away.  If the animals are living this well, I can only image how exceptional the human Promontory experience must...
